Pretty lucky, because Iowa City's own badass progressives Mad Monks are playing with us! So if you have been missing us, we've been missing you, too; drop what you're doing and come to the Yacht to give us a big ear-hug. You won' get another chance for a looooong time.

About The Dead Kenny Gs
The Dead Kenny Gs is a duo started by Skerik and Mike Dillon in 2004. In 2005 they started adding Brian Haas, keyboard genius, for special shows, and a tour in 2006. Brad Houser, bass god from Critters Buggin, is currently the third member. Rotating members join the duo for necessary outings. The priority is for the name, The Dead Kenny Gs, to continue fighting injustice, cheese, and dishonesty in music, and society.

School's not quite back in session, so let's have one more party with no class.
About PB & The Jam:
Having an unprecedented musical birth on the far north side of a distant Funk Nebula, P.B. & The Jam, in it's genesis stages, was comprised of gray matter & whatever was left of the Gods' sense of humor. From the tips of the Fates long-stretching fingers assembled a cast of locally-renowned Minneapolis musicians who would make a pact with one another to forthwith rock out without regard for aural capacities
To make this night potentially epic, we have added a Smashing Pumpkins tribute band to kick things off. And they're playing a full set so get here early.

Yacht Club * Flat Black Studios * New Belgium Battle III
The first two were such successes (with three CD's produced so far), we thought we'd do it again. Here's the poop:
The winner gets a week of studio time at Flat Black Studios and second place gets a day of studio time and a keg of Fat Tire. There are usually four bands per night and the winners are determined based solely on crowd votes. The winners from each battle in September move on to the finals which are held on October 16th.

About Second Hand Smoke
Secondhand Smoke was formed in February of 2007 in Chicago. The sole purpose of this band is to help fill the void left by Sublime over a decade ago.
Performing all of Sublime's songs, Secondhand Smoke appeals to the hard-core fan. No stone is left unturned, and everyone has a great time singing along (and drinking along).
Of all the Sublime tribute bands out there, Secondhand Smoke puts on an authentic experience as a trio, and recreates the Long Beach sound to spread all over the Midwest and Carribbean.
We are for the fans, by the fans.

About Cornmeal:
Formed over 10 years ago, Cornmeal has grown from humble beginnings into a nationally recognized live music institution. 10 years together is no simple task these days, especially when the last five have seen the band spending over half the year on the road. Heavily influenced by American roots and folk music, Cornmeal blends lightning fast tempos and impeccable harmonies into an unrivaled live performance that continues to expand upon the five-piece acoustic-electric groups’ vast musical repertoire. While steeped in the tradition of the past, Cornmeal continues to forge their own path, pushing the boundaries of bluegrass, Americana and folk for a whole new generation of music lovers. With a rapidly growing fan base and ever-evolving sound, Cornmeal challenges the recipe of the bluegrass sound and live performance.

Iowa plays host the those burrowin' varmints from Wisconsin on Saturday so we thought it'd be great to have some borrowin' varmints from Wisconsin play a show the night before. In all seriousness, we absolutely LOVE having Natty Nation down here. Their reggae skills are unmatched in the midwest and they bring it every single time.
